Creating a VLAN interface
You can use the Create VLAN Interface dialog box to add or modify a VLAN. A VLAN is indistinguishable from a physical network interface after it is created. The physical interface must be down before you can add a VLAN. You cannot add an interface alias to a physical VLAN but you can add an alias to VLAN interfaces.
Steps
1.
From the Home tab, double-click the appropriate storage system to display a subtree of management features.
2.
Click Configuration > Network > Interfaces.
3.
Click Create VLAN.
4.
Select a physical interface for the VLAN from the drop-down list.
Note: The drop-down list includes only an Ethernet interface or a virtual interface (vif). Enabled interfaces, interfaces that are included in another vif, an existing VLAN interface, and a physical VLAN are not included in the list.
5.
Type a VLAN tag in the VLAN tag box and click Add.
Note: A VLAN tag is a numerical value between 1 and 4,094 that identifies the VLAN.
6.
Click Create.
